Doctor of Natural Sciences (Doctor rerum naturalium –Dr. rer.nat) from the Justus –Liebig –University, Germany and a Master of Science in Natural Resources Assessment and Management from the University of Dar es Salaam.
His teaching and research interests include governance of land resources, land grabbing, climate change, impact assessment (EIA, SIA and SEA), rural livelihoods, social inclusions, land tenure, land use planning, resettlement, environmental conservation, human environmental relations, ecosystems assessment and biodiversity assessment and survey
